We are seeking a Captain to join a newly purchased 45m MY. The vessel is currently in the shipyard with a large scope of work being completed ahead of the Nov/Dec charter season starting. The vessel will operate in the States for the next year before repositioning to the Med, transitioning into a more typical dual-season private/charter program.
We are open to a Captain coupled with a Chef.
The role:
• Overall command and safe operation of a 45m MY with an charter program in the United States.
• Lead the yard work, maintenance and operational readiness of the yacht, ensuring a smooth launch into charter season.
• Manage all aspects of guest operations, delivering a high-end, professional charter experience.
• Build, lead, and develop a cohesive and efficient crew onboard.
• Oversee technical preparation and coordinate upcoming works to ensure the yacht is fully operational.
• Plan and execute itineraries across the US cruising grounds, with future repositioning to the Mediterranean.
• Charter-focused program with strong guest interaction and operational demand.
• Start date: ASAP but flexible for the right candidate.
What we’re looking for:
• Minimum Master 500GT (essential).
• Previous Captain experience + extensive project management/yard experience
• Proven charter experience is essential.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Calm, professional leadership style with the ability to manage busy guest operations.
• Technical knowledge highly advantageous given upcoming works and setup phase.
• B1/B2 visa required.
What’s on offer:
• Salary: $16,000 USD
• Leave: 60 days
• Flights: 2 x return flights per year as a dual season vessel (flights over 4 hours are business class)
• Discretionary 13th month bonus
• Probation Period: 3 months (7 days notice during probation and 1 month thereafter)
• US charter program followed by a Mediterranean dual-season transition.
